Orange Shrub Bars


These citrusy shrub bars are a great spin on the classic lemon bar, and are really easy to make! You can even try this recipe with some of our other tart flavors, like Grapefruit + Sage + Hibiscus! 
 
Ingredients for shortbread crust:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salted butter
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
  1. Cream ingredients and press into an 8x8 pan
  2. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees 
  3. Allow crust to cool 
Ingredients for shrub filling:
3 eggs
2 tbs flour
1 tbs cornstarch
3/4 cup sugar 
  1. Beat eggs with flour, cornstarch, sugar and Shrubwell
  2. Pour over cooled crust and bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees
  3. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and let cool before cutting into squares 
 
*Try adding fresh citrus zest to the shortbread crust for extra flavor
