Orange Shrub Bars
These citrusy shrub bars are a great spin on the classic lemon bar, and are really easy to make! You can even try this recipe with some of our other tart flavors, like Grapefruit + Sage + Hibiscus!
Ingredients for shortbread crust:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salted butter
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
- Cream ingredients and press into an 8x8 pan
- Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees
- Allow crust to cool
Ingredients for shrub filling:
3 eggs
2 tbs flour
1 tbs cornstarch
3/4 cup sugar
- Beat eggs with flour, cornstarch, sugar and Shrubwell
- Pour over cooled crust and bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar and let cool before cutting into squares
*Try adding fresh citrus zest to the shortbread crust for extra flavor
